While you're perusing the calendar for the season's final Halloween events for kids, make sure to add this frighteningly fun skating session to your list.

The newly-opened American Dream, the estimated $5 billion project from Triple Five Group, offers epic features for families, including Nickelodeon Universe, the forthcoming DreamWorks Water Park and an NHL-sized ice skating rink, which opened last week. To kickstart the creepy fun on the right foot, Jersey's entertainment hub is offering free ice skating from 11am–9pm for those who arrive in a festive costume on Halloween.

Feel enticed? Hop aboard American Dream and NY Waterway's ferry bus service and make your way to the rink in your spookiest garb. Even better? If you're thinking about trick or treating in NYC or other local areas but are feeling intimidated by the weather forecast, you just simply have to head inside! From 3–7pm there will be trick-or-treating and music in the common areas of the mall. Be sure to also catch a fun figure skating Halloween ice show every hour from 4–7pm!

To add to the fun, why not check out the largest indoor theme park in the Western Hemisphere (Nickelodeon Universe) while you're on the other side of the Hudson? Word of advice: We highly recommend enjoying rides like the Shellraiser (the world's steepest coaster) on an empty stomach—not after consuming Halloween candy. Enjoy, ghosts and monsters!

Please visit americandream.com to learn all about the regulations.

(A few quick rules to highlight: Family-friendly costumes are acceptable, those 13 and under can wear a mask as long as it does not cover the entire face and eyes are visible, masks are prohibited for anyone 14 and older and floor-length costumes that drag on the ground are not permitted on the ice.)
