"Mall" isn't necessarily an accurate way to describe American Dream

Sure, the long-awaited Jersey attraction boasts hundreds of retail options, from Zara and H&M to Saks Fifth Avenue and Tiffany & Co., but the three-million-square-foot destination is definitely an entertainment hub that needs to be on your radar.

Mark your calendars for Oct 25, the grand opening of the estimated $5 billion project. Triple Five Group, the masterminds behind the Mall of America in Minnesota, has worked to ensure that the Meadowlands shopping and entertainment behemoth is the talk of the town.

Add a Jersey outing to your list of fall activities for kids and check out all that awaits:

Nickelodeon Universe (Opens Oct 25)

While bumping elbows with the likes of SpongeBob and Dora the Explorer, visitors will anxiously await a ride on the Shellraiser. The coaster's 141-foot-tall pinnacle will offer a glimpse of the NYC skyline for thrill-seekers. Plus, its 121.5-degree angle makes it the world's steepest coaster drop. Needless to say, Nickelodeon Universe will earn a top spot on our list of kids' amusement parks.

DreamWorks Water Park (Opens Nov 27)

The second-largest attraction of its kind in the world will put patrons in a constant summer state of mind. Definitely come equipped with a few towels—you'll need 'em. Thrillagascar, the world's tallest indoor body slide, is an impressive 142 feet. Nearby in the park is the world's largest wave pool at 1.5 acres. Consider this one of the coolest indoor water parks New York families need to experience.

Big SNOW Ski and Snowboard Park (Opens Dec 5)

Snow bunnies, rejoice! The country's debut indoor snowpark will boast a chilly 26-degrees year-round while you tackle the slopes and visit the ski chalets. Sounds like an epic winter (or summer) activity to us!

Merlin Entertainments' LEGOLAND Discovery Center & SEA LIFE Aquarium (Date TBD)

Your go-to family attractions will now be nestled under one roof: LEGOLAND will boast rides, 10 build-and-play zones, a 4-D theater and much more for fans of the brick toys. (Note this will open in 2020). When at the aquarium, make sure to venture through the walk-through underwater tunnel to catch a glimpse of ocean critters like sharks, rays and plenty more!

KidZania USA (Date TBD)

Little ones can use their imaginations at this interactive kid-sized city where they're able to test their acting chops in performances, craft the ultimate robot, participate in cool missions and other immersive activities.

Angry Birds mini golf (Date TBD)

Fore! Strive for a hole-in-one at this quirky 18-course mini golf locale.

The list goes on...

You'll also have a chance to enjoy an NHL-sized ice rink, ride the American Dream Observation Wheel, catch a flick at the CMX Luxury Movie Theatre and more. Plus, there will be a combined 450 options for shopping and dining, which will be great when you need to refuel after a theme park visit.
