Once a temporary NYC pop-up experience for families (see our earlier coverage from 2016 here), Pip's Island will now return to the city permanently!

So what is Pip's Island, exactly? It's a space where your kids take charge and lead themselves (with the help of staff) through an exciting adventure...almost as though they're the main characters in their very own video game. The attraction is set to include immersive sets, exploratory spaces and audiovisual features that will help bring your kid's creativity to new heights, and to be honest, it's one of those things you'll need to try out for yourself, since it's unlike any other experience we've encountered.

"Pip’s Island is a special blend of the creative arts including interactive space design, performance art, music, animation, digital gadgetry and play—all brought together with seamless storytelling and audience engagement," Rania Ajami, Pip’s Island’s chief creative officer said in a statement. "We exist to cater to kids of today who take a 360 multi-sensory, multi-platform approach to engaging with their world."

Little visitors (specifically those ages 4–10) will embark on an hour-long “hero’s journey,” where they’re tasked with saving the island from darkness. With the help of fun puppets, STEAM-related activities and music, youngsters will be in the driver’s seat.

"Pip's Island is as real as 'make-believe' gets for children,” Pip’s Island Creative Director Walter Krudop said in a statement. "They literally feel like they are entering a live video game and are pulled right into the story." Find the attraction at 400 W 42nd St on March 21, 2019.
