Exciting news, little bibliophiles! Author Jeff Kinney, creator of Diary of a Wimpy Kid (aka one of the 101 best books for kids), is promoting his highly-anticipated summer release during a socially-distanced event.

Young readers and their parents are welcome to celebrate the forthcoming Rowley Jefferson’s Awesome Friendly Adventure at Word Up!, where Kinney is hosting a book pickup on August 3 from 4–6pm. For $16, a parent and child can attend the timed event and get a copy of the book, though keep in mind, strict rules will be enforced: All books will be pre-signed, appointment slots will be given, masks are required for those 2 and up and the author is only available for socially-distanced pictures with fans.

The new release follows Roland and his right-hand man, Garg the Barbarian, as they go face-to-face with the White Warlock to save Roland's mother. Trust us, it's a summer adventure that's not to be missed! For more ways to keep your little bookworms entertained, check out the New York Public Library's 2020 summer reading program and introduce them to some cool podcasts for kids

To get your tickets to the Aug 3 event, visit wordupbooks.com. The bookshop will send ticket-holders additional instructions via email.
