Looking for an adventure? There's a Brooklyn nabe that deserves your attention.

After visitors are done perfecting their circus arts at The Muse's new Gowanus outpost, they'll soon be able to enjoy another atypical workout. Mike Wolfert, who runs The Cliffs at Brooklyn Bridge Park and Long Island City, will open a 40,000-square-foot rock climbing center on Nevins St near Thomas Greene Park, according to The Brooklyn Paper

“Gowanus has become a hub for unique, non-traditional forms of fitness and recreation—including circus arts, archery and axe throwing,” Wolfert said in a company statement. “We aim to bring an exceptional new rock climbing experience to the mix. Residents have been asking The Cliffs to expand into Brooklyn for years. We have listened and are excited to be joining this vibrant community.”

The center is expected to be four times the size of the Brooklyn Bridge Park facility, and climbers will definitely be in for an exciting experience. Expect climbing walls, standard fitness equipment, classes (for adults and children) yoga and more cool stuff. But don't get your yoga pants on just yet—the facility isn't expected to open until 2020, which is a bit of a ways off, so you'll have to make do with nearby attractions for now. In the meantime, try your hand at silks, acro, tumbling and aerial stunts at The Muse. By the time 2020 rolls around, you'll be ready to tackle anything the Gowanus Cliffs offers.
