How to score big at the Toys “R” Us closing sales

Our hearts are heavy now that we've come to terms with the closing of Toys "R" Us, but we still have to put on a good face...and take advantage of those closing sales.

If you're looking to stock up on Paw Patrol merch or find the perfect first bike for your tots, now's the time to do so, but there are a few things you need to know before going full-on Confessions of a Shopaholic. As you begin to take advantage of those Toys "R" Us closing sales, note the following important details, as reported by Parents

  • Your kiddos have a limited time to redeem their gift cards (until Apr 21). If those new Pokémon figurines are calling their names, get to your local store stat so they can use the gift card they received for their birthday.
  • Don't try to peruse the site for closing sales. You'll only score deals (which are final sale) in stores. This is the best excuse to make a pit stop with your crew.
  • Hang onto your Toys "R" Us credit card, as its still usable, however, you won't gain credit from the purchases. As far as the coupons go, feel free to toss 'em—they're no longer being accepted.
  • If you were holding off on paying off an outstanding balance, you still need to do so (you're not off the hook yet).

We remain hopeful that kids will still be able to experience the joy of finding a new toy, even if our favorite store is closing its doors. You've been good to us, Geoffrey, and we're forever grateful for the memories.

If you need a pick-me-up after a stroll through the stuffed animal aisle, start making a list of things to do in spring, visit a few of these kids’ attractions with the family or watch one of these kids’ movies with your crew.
