Party on the Intrepid with a penguin and kangaroo for Kids Week 2018!

Every year, The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum celebrates history and science with Kids Week, welcoming New York's curious tots, kids and tweens aboard for special programming. You won't want to miss it...and after all, when else can you meet a penguin and kangaroo, make slime, watch mini Broadway performances, see a real spacesuit and learn how to conduct electricity? 

From Feb 18–24 2018, families have the opportunity to partake in some truly fascinating workshops, talks and other experiences. See below for just a few of our favorite happenings! For the full schedule of events (which includes tons of other great stuff), visit intrepidmuseum.org.

Feb 18, 19: The Science of Sports and Games

Master your fastball, learn the physics behind a pitch and even improve your golf swing with the help of the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers. You might also try virtual reality skiing or throw a spiral with the New York Jets!

Feb 20: The Science of Arts and Music

Get in on spectacular mini Broadway (and other) performances from the likes of SpongeBob Squarepants the Musical, Gazillion Bubble Show and Anastasia, meet a real ballerina from the American Ballet Theatre and play some theater games with the teaching artists at The New Victory Theater.

Feb 22: Science and the Natural World

Say hello to an adorable penguin with the help of Jenkinson's Aquarium staff (plus a kangaroo and bird of prey(see Feb 23)), watch robotics demonstrations, learn how drones track hurricanes and even check out the skeletons of vertebrate animals!

Feb 23: Science and the Natural World

Meet zoologist Jarod Miller to say hello to a real kangaroo and bird of prey, along with other amazing critters, and learn about conservation. You'll also get to try your hand at making slime, exploding a volcano, creating a machine and even exploring circuitry and robotics with companies/organizations like Kidville, SciTech Kids and the Central Park Zoo.

All activities are included with the cost of museum admission.
