This back-to-school season is more nerve-wracking than usual.

If you—like thousands of other parents—are wondering what is in store for your kids this September, now is the time to gather questions: The NYC DOE will host a digital, citywide information session on Thursday, July 16 at 6:30pm. The hour-long program will address the proposed plans from NYC schools and take questions at the end of the session. Attendees are asked to register online and will be able to access the event in English, Spanish or Chinese.

The virtual talk comes one week after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that the 2020-2021 academic year will be a mix of online and in-person learning for NYC schools. This week, Governor Andrew Cuomo revealed the metrics that are needed for schools in New York to reopen. Needless to say, there's been a lot of information in a short amount of time—and right now it can all seem overwhelming.

"Getting our kids back to school successfully and safely is the single biggest part of restarting our city," Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement. "Our approach for the fall maximizes in person instruction while protecting health and safety of our students and educators."

Tune in on Thursday, and don't forget to enjoy NYC's best summer activities—the season moves quickly! If you can't attend Thursday's event, be on the lookout for sessions on Tuesday, July 28, Wednesday, August 12 and Thursday, August 27.
