This Queens playground just got some major TLC

Is there anything better than a summer afternoon at the playground? Well, epic renovations certainly make the outing all the more sweet.

Big Bush Park in Woodside just received $1.8 million in upgrades, and Queens families will love spending time at this outdoor oasis—there's something for everyone. When the weather gets wickedly hot, little ones can enjoy rendezvous through the new splash and spray showers. After they drive off, they can run through the bright-green jungle gym. Moms and dads will be able to relax in the new seating area or enjoy the game tables while kiddos play. If chasing after their tots isn't enough of a workout, the new fitness area will kick things into high gear.

It's certainly worth a pitstop if you're looking for a little time outside.

"Big Bush Park is now a new and improved recreational space for the growing families of Woodside,” Borough President Katz said in a statement, according to the NYC Parks Department.

Perhaps what's most interesting about this destination is the fact that the community was able to voice its concerns and requests—a trend with these park renovations (DiGilio Playground in Kensington underwent a similar process). "Designs for this project were in no small part due to input from the engaged community, and serves as a perfect example of how residents can have a significant impact in beautifying our neighborhoods," Katz added.

You can catch us at the game table playing checkers. See you there!
