Time to face facts: It's going to rain on Halloween. But every storm cloud has a silver lining, and you can save the day by taking your kid indoor trick or treating in NYC! We have the scoop on where to go and what to expect.
Time Out Market New York
Unfortunately, most indoor trick or treating took place over the weekend. Not to worry: Time Out Market New York in DUMBO (55 Water St, Brooklyn) is holding its festivities on Halloween at 3pm!
Call us biased, but Halloween at Time Out Market New York is special. Each vendor is giving out candy that reflects their food, so expect an international display of treats!
Bonus? Our Dumbo neighbors are keeping busy! The 50-plus vendors participating in Dumboween will hand out candy, rain or shine, and the trick or treating, live music, puppet show and crafts at the Archway Kids Party from 5-7pm in the Archway Under the Manhattan Bridge (50 Adams St, Brooklyn), will be protected from the elements.
BAMboo!

The popular BAMboo! block party at BAM (30 Lafayette Ave, Brooklyn), which takes place from 4–7pm, will head indoors in case of rain, packing as many of the carnival games and craft activities into the BAM Peter Jay Sharp Building as will fit.
The costume contest always is amazing—it's a creative community! As always, there will be a candy giveaway.
Spooky City at MCNY
You can wear your costume to Spooky City at the Museum of the City of New York (1220 Fifth Ave), or you can whip up a creative mask at the event. Then you and your little ghouls can trick or treat at the haunted scavenger hunt throughout the attraction, where you'll enjoy eerie tales and tasty treats.
The event, which takes place from 2–6pm, is free with museum admission ($20, free for those 20 and under), but it's suggested you register online.
SHOWFIELDS

Check out the spooky holiday makeover at SHOWFIELDS (11 Bond St), the super-stylish 14,000-square-foot retail showcase in Soho, then go trick or treating at the 50 candy stations set up in the complex from 11am–8pm.
Bonus:There will be face painting from3–7pm and a Dubble Bubble-themed photo booth. Finally, there is trick or treating at all Dylan's Candy Bar locations—including the one in the TurnStyle market inside the subway concourse under Columbus Circle. (Columbus Circle, Hells Kitchen. 12-11pm, free.) If you get there by train, why not pass the time with one of the best ghost stories for kids?
