Kids' Week in Staten Island
Kids learn about nature and explore the 222-acre Blue Heron Park, a sanctuary filled with wetland ponds, swamps and streams. The Urban Park Rangers present a different theme every day, with complementary activities including a rock safari, a nature drawing session and a bug identification station. Mon Apr 9 10am--3pm. Especially For Kids Daily Screenings
Families are invited to the museum's screening room to view a collection of Native American animated shorts, such as "Neil Discovers the Moon" and "How the Chipmunk Got Its Stripes." Kids' Week at Marine Park

Celebrate the (relatively) warm weather with this seed-planting workshop. Kids learn all about the nascent shoots, from how they grow to which types can be planted at home, then make crafty creations with their seeds. Mon Apr 9 noon--4pm. . Free. Ages 3 and up.
