CMOM lets its members host birthday parties at the museum, and if you're not already a member, you can become one to book a party (though you should plan to do so at least two weeks in advance). Parties can be booked Sat and Sun 11:30am–1pm, 2:30–4pm, and from Memorial Day through Labor Day, parties can be booked all seven days of the week in those same time slots. Booking a party gives you access to a party room for 1.5 hours (you are allowed in 30 minutes early to set up) and museum, and parties allow 30 guests (including adults). You're in charge of all food, utensils and decor. Please note that outdoor attractions admission is not included for party guests. Ages 1–5.

The teaching artists at Treasure Trunk Theatre bring the imaginations of kids who love costumes and playing make-believe to a whole new level. Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre Birthday Parties

If your apartment is too small to host your toddler’s friends, Busy Bodies offers an open play area and backyard that’s perfect for birthday parties, book readings, and other events. The standard birthday package ($450) includes two hours of private party play for up to 15 children and 24 birthday balloons. And all-inclusive birthday package ($600) also includes pizza, cupcakes, juice boxes and water along with napkins, plates and utensils. Play City is a 3000-square-foot indoor playground in New Jersey that not only caters to its kiddie clientele, but also their parents. While the children are at play, parents can relax in the cafe while they watch their children run around with their friends. If your kid loves the space so much, consider booking a party package with the venue. The Play Basic package ($695 plus tax) includes two hours of private play time for up to 14 children, pizza and juice for the kids, two dozen balloons, paper goods, two staff members and set up/clean up.
