Foodies, it’s time to start queueing. A total of 12 new establishments have made it to this year’s Bib Gourmand list, bringing the final number of recommended joints to 58. That’s eight more than the previous year, with four spots dropping from the list.
New hawkers include Beach Road Fish Head Bee Hoon at Whampoa Makan Place, Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow at Ghim Moh Market and Food Centre, and Koh Brother Pig’s Organ Soup at Tiong Bahru Market. Packing the biggest win this year is Bedok Interchange Hawker Centre, with two stores entering the list: Bedok Chwee Kueh and Hock Hai (Hong Lim) Curry Chicken Noodle.
Other then Bedok, it seems like the inspectors spent some extra time around the CBD too. New restaurants like Anglo Indian Café & Bar and Chen’s Mapo Tofu, an offshoot of two-Michelin-starred Shisen Hanten also received nods.
Those that dropped from the list are New Ubin Seafood, Shi Wei Da, The Coconut Club, and Rolina Traditional Hainanese Curry Puff.
While it’s no Michelin Star, the Bib Gourmand list acknowledges places that provide value-for-money meals for under $45.
