If there's a pub for sale then it's pretty likely that hospitality juggernaut Merivale are considering buying it. Since deciding to branch out into the pub game with full force, they have acquired the Newport, the Coogee Pavilion, the Paddington, the Alex, the Tennyson, the Queens Hotel and most recently, the Collaroy Hotel.
And the latest corner establishment to be added to their roster is the Vic on the Park. But before you get all ruffled about the prospect of a shiny upgrade to this beloved pub with one of Sydney's best back decks, there are no current plans to drastically renovate. Yep, the pub will trade as usual after Merivale take over on Nov 13, so you can still count on some three-on-three basketball out in the carpark, but you might get a few new menu items to smash after the game.
