Sydney's best airport hotels
This is an airport hotel that wholeheartedly embraces the fact that is an airport hotel. Paying homage to the golden-era of travel (think Don Draper sipping scotch on cream leather), Felix is stylish and cheeky. Here you check-in in the penthouse, grab a martini and watch planes landing on a runway-adjacent plush pastel lounge. The rooms are fabulous but comfy and there's a savvy 24 hour self serve food area with some of Sydney's finest snacks and tipples charged to your room like a posh vending machine.
This sophisticated hotel is nicely placed if you’re hopping on to a domestic or international flight from Sydney Airport. Free transfers mean you don’t have to faff around with a taxi, and the suites – some of which come with a balcony – aren’t too shabby either. There's also an in-house sports bar and you can skip the airport maccas for their well stocked breakfast buffet.
You couldn’t get much closer to the airport if you tried (and we have). A domestic flight is just a ten-minute walk away, with the hotel located just 600 metres from the airport. Each room offers a kitchenette so you can whip up your own dinner and save precious exploring money, and they also provide a washing machine for total DIY decadence.
You might be able to see the airport from your balcony – but don’t worry: it definitely isn’t in earshot. What’s more, the motorised black-out blinds ensure a good night’s kip. There’s a spa, pool, children’s playground and on-site restaurant plus plenty of places nearby if you fancy dining out.
