Keen to ring in the new year by the ocean? We’ve got good news. For the first time in more than a decade, Bondi Beach will be hosting a huge outdoor NYE celebration – brought to life by the crew behind some of the city’s biggest festivals.

While Bondi is a natural choice for a big celebration in the Harbour City, red tape has traditionally limited the amount of big public events in the area. In good news for beach-based music fans, Fuzzy (the events organisation responsible for some of the city’s biggest festivals, including Harbourlife and Field Day) have just secured a coveted licence to stage a huge NYE celebration on Sydney's most famous shoreline.

The full line-up is yet to be released, but based on the other events from the Fuzzy team, we can expect big things. Previous headliners at Harbourlife and Field Day include Duke Dumont, Aphex Twin and Bonobo, and this year’s Field Day line-up includes Peggy Gou, Folamour, Jayda G and a heap of other beloved international artists. According to the organisers, the beachside NYE celebration will be “a world-class event with global energy and a distinctly Bondi attitude.”

Capacity at the main event will be limited, with ticket holders (aged 18 and above) getting exclusive access to the (still TBA) DJs and artists. If you don’t have cash to splash on a ticket, you can still tap into the beachside NYE fun – with Fuzzy promising a separate,  family-friendly celebration complete with food trucks, roaming entertainment and a 9pm firework display to bid farewell to 2025. (This event will be free to attend, but you’ll need to register to secure your spot).

When explaining the thinking behind the festival, Fuzzy Managing Director Adelle Robinson explained that this is an event that they’ve been thinking about for a while. “We’ve got a deep history with Bondi, and to return on New Year’s Eve feels pretty special. It’s an iconic location and the perfect backdrop for what we have planned. We can’t wait to share more soon.”

According to the organisers, the event is being created with the local community at its core, with the aim of creating a hub for NYE festivities outside of the CBD. While we can expect the Fuzzy crew to ship in some big name international acts as headliners, the local-first ethos will also see local acts and business celebrated through partnerships, pop-ups and a carefully curated line-up.
