While Japan was under a nationwide state of emergency due to the Covid-19 coronavirus, most tourist attractions and public facilities including museums, galleries and theme parks across Japan closed their doors temporarily. A host of venues have reopened as early as June 1, but they will be operating on shorter hours and have introduced new safety measures to reduce the risk of the virus spreading.
