As the world goes comic book crazy, it's pretty heartening to know that some of our homegrown talent is also getting a look in. And while it might not be in the form of summer blockbusters and their sequels, prequels and all of the merchandise, some Hongkongers have decided to pay homage to our very own Old Master Q in perhaps the most Hong Kong way possible: a themed cafe.

Prince Edward's brand new OMQ Dining Room is hard to miss – a statue of Old Master Q himself, dressed in a waiter uniform, greets you on Nathan Road. Up the stairs, you enter a comic-themed world, featuring homeboy and his cast of friends in 1:1 form, dressed variously in their famous casual threads and, appropriately, as chefs or waiters. Calvin Tse, owner of OMQ Dining Room, met Old Master Q creator Alfonso Wong by chance a couple of years ago, and together they realised the lifelike world, with every detail approved by Wong himself.

The dining room itself is divided into six themed areas, each featuring different artworks in either monotone, silhouette or pop art designs, but there are photo ops all around - even the chairs have been illustrated. The menu is a pretty extensive one, with soups, sandwiches, pastas and baked and grilled proteins all featuring, as well as a dedicated vegetarian section. Naturally, this too is in the shape of old mate Q.
