Time Out says

With an interior inspired by 1930s Shanghai, the Spa at Mandarin Oriental is a stylish destination for relaxation and tranquillity. Facilities at the spa include ten treatment rooms including two couples’ suites with a private vitality pool, a tea lounge, a Chinese herbal steam room, a jacuzzi for male guests, a tepidarium for female guests, a sauna, and a spa boutique.

The setting is luxurious and the treatments are just as opulent. From oriental massages, aromatherapy, Chinese doctor consultations, reflexology, facials, mum-to-be experiences and much more, The Mandarin Spa is the luxury spa of dreams.

Their newest treatment, in the form of traditional Chinese therapy, takes guests on a journey (2.5 hours) through the philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and aims to balance the mind, body and soul while promoting the flow of Qi for natural healing.

It all begins with a singing bowl ceremony ringing with melodic chimes and deep breathing that lulls you into an emotional calm and stable state of mind. It sets the tone for the whole treatment, and before you know it, you're enjoying crystal healing on a heated, warm volcanic stone bed that helps to restore equilibrium and balance the Chakras.

This is followed by a relieving Chinese meridian massage to promote the smooth flow of the body's energy, and finally, a relaxing Chinese rose quartz face gua sha that relieves signs of tension, boosts circulation, and banishes bloat, completing an exquisite experience based on the healing traditions of Chinese therapy. It's a rejuvenating experience that we could all do with right now.
