The team behind PirataThe Optimist and TokyoLima, has announced its latest venture: Temakeria (TMK)a unique, punk-inspired temakeria.

Set to open in mid-July in Sheung Wan, TMK promises a wild experience and Japanese food with a twist –  in a down-to-earth and grungy dive-bar-styled environment. Inspired by punk rock’s exuberance and irreverence, loud punk-rock music will blast from the restaurant into the streets as friends gather for temaki, addictive drinks and a rowdy late night out.

The menu will offer a tempting selection of classic and signature sushi, fresh-from-the-sea sashimi, and refreshing takes on traditional Japanese dishes. Freshly rolled fist-sized temaki will be hugged with a light, crispy and charcoal grilled layer of nori (seaweed) filled with fleshy King Crab, fatty Bluefin Toro, generous portions of Hokkaido Sea Urchin and more. For drinks, diners can choose from an array of smooth sake sipped from traditional Japanese wooden masu cups, as well as a varied selection of Japanese highballs and craft beer.

While no official opening date has been announced yet, you can follow TMK on their Facebook or Instagram, and keep your eyes peeled for the latest updates! By Sarah Moran
