Asia's 50 Best Bars confirms that it will replace its on-site awards ceremony, originally scheduled in Singapore, with a digital announcement of the winners instead. Due to the ongoing global pandemic and Singapore government's stricter restrictions on gatherings, the organisers decided to cancel the event scheduled on May 14 at Capitol Theatre. Still, they will go ahead with publishing the 2020 list via a digital countdown on May 14, 7pm.

"We are disappointed not to be able to run the event in Singapore this year," shares Mark Sansom, content editor for Asia's 50 Best Bars. "Ultimately, the health and safety of our attendees and staff remain the utmost priority and, as such, we will not be able to host an on-the-ground event," he adds.

The programme line-up – #50BestTalks thought-leadership series and a Bartenders' Feast at The Capitol Kempinski – scheduled to happen before the awarding ceremony will be rescheduled later in the year.

Asia's 50 Best Bars will also announce a series of special awards leading up to the awards countdown on May 14. Expect the announcement of Campari One To Watch Award on April 16, Ketel One Sustainable Bar Award on April 23, Michter's Art of Hospitality Award on April 30, and Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award on May 7.

Viewers may join the digital countdown of the list of Asia's 50 Best Bars 2020 via The World's 50 Best Bars Facebook page or 50 Best Bars TV YouTube channel.
