Dialogue in the Dark's Exhibition Centre in Mei Foo is set to close after its lease expires on September 30. Established to help raise public awareness of the visually impaired, the social enterprise is best known for its experiential exhibition tour – a 75-minute journey in complete darkness that’s led by visually impaired guides. The tours have been held in the soon-to-close centre since 2010 and have been loved by locals and tourists alike. Under five different settings simulating the streets of Hong Kong, you are challenged to explore the darkness with all your senses – sound, smell, touch and even taste – except that of sight. The centre also offers other experiences, including family tours, dinners and birthdays – all of which take place in the dark.

There’s a chance that Dialogue in the Dark may find a new location, but no new address or opening date has yet to be confirmed, and the future of the exhibition tour is uncertain at this point. So take the opportunity to immerse yourself in this unforgettable pitch-black experience while you still can. Remember to book ahead.
