One of the best ways to travel without leaving the city is through the palate; you can either eat through a variety of cuisines to satisfy your travel itch or explore the world through wines. Premium wine retailer Etc Wine Shops just opened their new themed store in Central; providing customers with an immersive experience of the French wine region of Burgundy. Those who would like to traverse through this region – which is home to some of the most expensive wines in the world – can browse wines from Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, both of which are historically considered the most important wine regions in Burgundy. The wines are divided on the shelves per appellation which include Aloxe-Corton, Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, St. Aubin, Volnay, Pommard, Beaune, among others.

The store boasts a selection of over 1,000 wines with access to an inventory of 6,000 bottles featuring a comprehensive product range that starts with affordable everyday wines to boutique producers, limited production, biodynamic, and rare labels. Housing one of the largest Burgundy wine collections in the city, the shop will appeal to seasoned oenophiles, hobbyists, sommeliers, and even wine beginners. They also offer 100 fine Champagnes – from Larmandier-Bernier Longitude Blanc de Blancs ($380) to a 1990 Dom Pérignon Réserve de L'Abbaye ($11,150) – and Bordeaux wines – which includes a few bottles of Petrus Pomerol like 1989 ($46,150) and 1990 ($47,390) vintages. The shop also put up a dedicated shelf for bottles of rare whisky and sake for those who are looking for spirits.
