Known for adding limited-edition flavours to their fried chicken and throwing funky desserts such as durian egg tarts into the mix, KFC is no stranger to new hybrid or combination items. And guess what? They've done it again!

This time, KFC and Nestle’s KitKat have joined forces to release a 'crunchy chocolate delights' which combines KitKat chocolate with two of KFC’s most popular items: the Portuguese tart and honey muffin. The result of which has given birth to the 'crunchy chocolate Portuguese tart' and 'crunchy chocolate muffin'.

With a crispy tart case and molten chocolate filling, the crunchy chocolate Portuguese tart ($12) is rich, chocolatey and crunchy; going one step (in texture, at least) beyond the classic Portuguese tart. Meanwhile, the crunchy chocolate muffin ($10), which is more akin to an American biscuit or English scone, blends velvety chocolate with aromatic honey to make a crunchy pastry stuffed with KitKat chocolate.

Alongside these sweet treats, KFC is launching several meal deals, such as the C1 classic box (from $49.50) and C2 giant box (from $50.50), to include these desserts as add-ons to the classic sets of Kentucky fried chicken and crispy potato. These deals also come with free KitKat mini-packs and a coupon for more KitKats. In addition, customers will receive a $10 cash discount when purchasing selected KFC meal deals; upon showing the receipt of KitKat products bought at ParknShop, Wellcome, 7-11, and Circle K.

The crunchy chocolate muffin is available all day, but the crunchy chocolate Portuguese tart is only available after 11am. Both products are offered at selected stores while stocks last, or until November 4. By Elaine Wong
