KFC introduces new concept store and two specialty mooncakes

This Mid-Autumn Festival, KFC’s chicken wing bucket has a new friend — the first-ever mooncake bucket! Called the Moonlight Bucket, the handy-dandy signature offering is cleverly named because it also moonlights as a lantern with a built-in LED light. Let the sparks fly as you indulge in KFC’s iterations of the traditional Chinese mooncake.

The Moonlight Bucket offers two special flavours of the beloved treat: the spicy chicken and nuts mooncake and the golden lava mooncake. The former features spicy chicken floss, almonds, sunflower seeds and peaches — definitely an uncommon addition — while the latter boasts a smooth egg yolk custard encased in a picture-perfect golden crust. Go for both sweet and savoury with three of each flavour in your bucket, or go all-in with the sweetness with a six-piece golden lava mooncake bucket.

Vouchers for the KFC Moonlight Bucket will be sold in stores at $275 each from July 16 onwards, and the buckets can be redeemed from August 13-September 10. Early birds — nay, early mooncake lovers — can get the vouchers for $189 on or before August 5.

This offer from KFC comes right after the unveiling of their first concept store in Causeway Bay on July 16. Covering three floors, the new 'semi-café' offers a different dining experience at every level. The ground floor offers grab-and-go sweet boxes for dessert lovers, self-ordering kiosks with modern bar seats are on the first floor, while the main dining area is on the second floor. The new cafe also offers new items on the menu such as the Grilled Chicken Combo ($138), Oven-glazed Hot Wing Platter ($88), Baked Rice with Chicken Fillet Combo ($52), and the curious Chizza ($88) – a chicken pizza. Yep, you read that right.

From chicken mooncake to chicken pizza, KFC is giving chicken lovers so many reasons to eat with them this summer. Grab an adventurous foodie with you, and head on over!
