Local film platform Movie Movie has just released details of this year’s Life is Art film festival. Now in its third year, the event is being split into two parts, the first taking place this month and the other happening during the summer. Showing at Movie Movie’s new cinema in Tai Koo, this month’s lineup features a dozen films dedicated to music, art, fashion and theatre.

Among the current crop of films, highlights include Citizen Jane, about activist Jane Jacobs’ successful campaign to stop an expressway being inserted into lower Manhattan in the 1960s; Richard Linklater: Dream is Destiny, a documentary that focuses on the maverick director behind Boyhood and Before Sunrise; and Buena Vista Social Club: Adios, which revisits the Cuban musicians brought to worldwide attention in a previous documentary by Wim Wenders.

Tickets are available now on Broadway Circuit’s website. Look out for news about Life is Art’s second programme in the summer nearer the time.
