Ah, Hong Kong, the city that sometimes seems like a carousel where bars and restaurants are opening and closing down constantly. Just last month, Mrs Pound closed, and the latest victim of our city's soaring high rents and never-ending thirst for something new is the hipper-than-thou speakeasy, Employees Only.
Currently ranked 26th on the latest World's 50 Best Bars list, Employees Only was first established in New York as a space for staffers in the F&B industry to kick back after hours, and it has since expanded to L.A., Sydney, Singapore and then Hong Kong in 2017. Sadly though, after two years of serving Hongkongers on our late nights out, the bar has ceased operations as of last Saturday.
