As the outbreak continues in the city, businesses, both big and small, have been largely affected. The latest victim to pandemic-related closures is LA's NYX Professional Makeup. The brand announced on their social media platforms that they would be exiting the Hong Kong and Macau market entirely due to a "business strategy readjustment". No exact details on dates of closure have been announced, but the company stated that all three retail stores in Sha Tin, Mong Kok, Tuen Mun, as well as their counters at Facess, Tsim Sha Tsui, Beauty Avenue in Mong Kok, and Macau's New Yaohan department store, will be closing in the coming months.

Following the closures of other international brands in Hong Kong such as Forever 21, Espirit, Victoria Secret's flagship store in Causeway Bay, and the pending closure of Topshop in October, we can't say that NYX's exit came as a huge surprise.

While NYX currently does no have a dedicated online shop for Hongkongers, fans of the brand can still shop for popular products such as their soft matte lip cream and their hugely popular eye shadow palettes on platforms like lanecrawford.com.hklookfantastic.com and ASOS. Members of NYX's loyalty program have been advised to redeem their membership points before September 15, so don't forget to collect your rewards before then and go in for a final shopping spree!
