In a little over a week, one of Hong Kong’s top steakhouses is closing its doors for the last time. The team at Blue - Butcher & Meat Specialist has just announced that the Hollywood Road address will be shutting down shop for good on May 19.
The reason? Why, the same reason so many places in Hong Kong close these days: a steep hike in rent. It seems success so often has a price here.
Since opening in 2012 as Maximal Concepts' first full dining venue, Blue has won over thousands of dining fans. And the restaurant remains a point of pride for the restaurant group, too. It’s hosted culinary icons like Fergus Henderson and Heston Blumenthal, both in the kitchen and at the table, and has scored heaps of accolades over the years, including from media like Time Out.
