As the world continues to shift towards sustainable living with plant-based diets and ethical eating, Ovolo Hotels is joining in on the action by going completely vegetarian! Launching 'Year of the Veg', all Ovolo hotels in Hong Kong and Australia will be cutting out all meats across all its bars, restaurants, and room service menus, replacing them with plant-based foods for an entire year starting this October.

"We want to be conscious about what we’re consuming and practice sustainability as much as we can," Ovolo group’s founder and CEO Girish Jhunjhnuwala shares, "we believe this can have an enormous impact on the environment and humanity at large. To that end, we’re evolving our food offerings so that our guests can continue enjoying great dining experiences in a more sustainable manner.”

'Year of the Veg' is not the only initiative that Ovolo Hotels has implemented. Ovolo Hong Kong first began the journey towards vegetarianism with Veda at Ovolo Central – Hong Kong’s very first vegetarian hotel restaurant. Over the past year, the hotel group has also replaced all plastic bathroom amenities, plastic straws, and plastic bags with reusable alternatives.

Komune at Ovolo Southside is also cutting all meat from its menus and will soon be presenting a brand new vegetarian restaurant concept. Room service menus will also be revamped to offer an array of mouth-watering vegetarian dishes for guests to enjoy in their rooms, so stay tuned for more delicious updates real soon! Erika Yip
