This summer, go on an immersive, kaleidoscopic journey with The Hidden Planet Mystery Tour at Repulse Bay. From July 3 to September 30, the basement level of The Pulse shopping complex transforms into the event’s namesake planet with eight zones that feature state-of-the-art technology and mesmerising audio-visual effects. Highlights from the tour include the Rainbow Room, where light changes colour with every step you take; the Room of Infinity (see below), a fluorescent amalgamation of lights and mirrored walls; and a blinding tunnel of warped space and time. All boast life-sized light installations designed for the perfect Instagram shot.

Guests can also experiment with the neon tattoo technology supposedly brought to earth by the friendly extraterrestrial monsters that inhabit the Hidden Planet. Lasting only six to eight hours, these messy tats are fun for grown-ups and kids alike. Note though that this glow-in-the-dark body art is only available on weekends and public holidays.

Aside from the cosmic happenings at The Pulse, Hidden Planet’s aliens are set to beam down to Repulse Bay Beach for a one-day-only beach invasion on July 8. Expect to be showered with free monster floaties, inflatable beds, beach umbrellas and other awesome souvenirs. There will also be monster parades in Causeway Bay on July 15 and Stanley Plaza on July 22 with gift and ticket giveaways.

If you want to check out the Hidden Planet, standard prices for adults on weekends start from $125 and group packages for families start from $440. By Karl Lam
