Honestly, from the moment Michelle Yeoh posted on Instagram with her Hong Kong-exclusive Labubu in August, we should’ve known it was a teaser for some upcoming project. As it turns out, the French trunkmaker and luxury leather goods house Moynat has unveiled an exclusive collaboration with Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung, who is renowned for his globally viral Labubu character.

The Moynat Kasing Lung collection highlights some of Lung’s most popular character creations: the pointy-toothed Labubu, the winged Zimomo, and the black-furred King Mon. These critters are emblazoned on Moynat’s signature M canvas in black and white, with products including tote bags in four sizes, a hobo bag, a mini 48h bag, and an exclusive Mignon bag. The collection also extends to smaller but more colourful accessories such as cardholders, passport covers, and bag charms. Who needs the plush Labubu keychain when you can have this much more exclusive accessory hanging off your bag?

What makes this drop even more iconic is that Moynat has scored Hong Kong screen legends Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Michelle Yeoh to star in their collection reveal. The editorial shoot reveals the actors posing with singular bags or artfully juggling almost all the key pieces. The Kasing Lung collection also stars Paris Opera Ballet’s danseur étoile Guillaume Diop – the first black person to reach principal rank in the company’s history – and fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, but of course our attention is pretty much fully on everyone’s favourite Hong Kong artists, who were presumably tapped for this campaign due to Lung’s link to our city.

The first chapter of this collaboration will debut in early October, timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of Lung’s ‘The Monsters’ series. This capsule will then be available from late 2025 to early 2026, exclusively at Moynat boutiques within each city hosting the exhibition. What do you think? Would you splash out on these bags?
