Hong Kong’s first-ever contemporary churrería, Twist & Buckle, is officially opening on Tuesday, August 25, along Chatham Road in Tsim Sha Tsui. The newest takeaway churro spot had been the centre of attention among local foodies and Instagrammers since its soft opening a few weeks ago, and now, they're officially opening to the public and giving away free mini-churros for the first 88 guests who walk-in after 4pm on August 25.

Twist & Buckle devotes a lot of attention and care to making authentic churros with only the best ingredients and a state-of-the-art José Luis Blanco machine imported from overseas. Their ‘chilled’ and ‘specials’ menu features a creative selection of churro and soft serve concoctions such as Aloha ($48) – a churro served with bits of mango, passion fruit compote, and a creamy vanilla soft serve; Cookie Monster ($58) – a combination of a strikingly blue churro with cookie crumble and soft serve, drizzled with a rich layer of chocolate sauce; as well as PBJ ($58) – a churro decorated with roasted peanuts, peanut butter and fresh raspberry jam. Pair the churros with their freshly made fizzy lemonades ($36) that come in two fruity and refreshing flavours – a blue Butterfly Pea Magic and a zesty Calamansi and Mint – for a perfect churro indulgence.

Twist & Buckle is open from 12pm to 11pm daily except for its grand opening next Tuesday, which will operate from 12pm to 2pm, and 4pm to 11pm respectively. Elaine Soh
