Golden, panko-crusted meat cushioned between two slices of toasted bread, the beloved katsu sando has made its way from Japanese convenience stores onto the menus of underground drinking dens in Tokyo and beyond, and has evolved into many variations.
Feeling hungry? Good, because Time Out Hong Kong's first Battle Series presented by Asia Miles is inviting Hong Kong’s most notable chefs to put up their best and personalised version of the sando. This unique dining experience, brought to you by Asia Miles, brings together the flavours of multiple cuisines in delicious sando form to its members and Time Out readers. Tickets cost $888/person, which means ticket holders will be able to earn 1 Asia Mile for every $2 spent on ticketing!
Held on November 6, three chefs will go head-to-head in a one-night-only event for bragging rights as the winner of Time Out’s Battle of the Sando. Guests will sit down to a multi-course meal with free-flow drinks, celebrating the star of the evening: the sando.
There will be appetisers to start, before digging into the main attraction of three limited-edition sando, one tailor-made from each contender. Not only will these be thoroughly tasted, but they will also be judged by Time Out's discerning audience who, along with our judges, will crown the winner together. The evening’s meal will finish off with dessert courtesy of Silencio, along with live jazz performances and free-flow specialty cocktails from Nikka and hops from YAU to keep the party going.
