Winners of our Time Out Bar of the Year for 2017, the folks at this slip of a bar on Russell Street know whisky – plus, they’ve got one of the largest Ardbeg collections in Melbourne. This August, try one of the three tiers of Ardbeg flights offered for the month. Mention Time Out and you’ll score a free dram of Ardbeg 10yo when you purchase a flight option.

Neptune Food & Wine nail the seafood brief: they bring their A-game with a whole host of quality seafood straight out of a can, just like the Spanish do it. But this Windsor eatery also know their booze, and they’ve decided that the smokiness and saltiness of Ardbeg makes a pretty perfect condiment to pour over freshly shucked oysters. They’re offering a dram of Ardbeg 10yo and three oysters for $20 throughout August. Mention Time Out and you’ll get an additional oyster free.

This Lonsdale Street bar is like a shrine to whisky, casting its signature Boilermakers (that’s beer + whisky) and a host of accomplished cocktails. For Ardbeg Month, come in for the Up in Smoke cocktail, an aperitif cocktail they describe as a whisky Negroni. It showcases the citrus and salty side of the Ardbeg 10yo that’s both short, bright and smoky. Mention Time Out and receive a serve of matched cheese.

  • Balaclava

This St Kilda East drive-through burger bar serves a succinct menu of loaded up burgers and for the month of August, they’ve got a doozy. Inspired by the smoky, peaty goodness of Ardbeg 10yo, STKBB has created a Scottish sensation burger called the Mad Barry. This guy is pumped with beef, Ardbeg soaked haggis, neeps and tatties hash plus roasted oat and onion aioli. Purchase a Mad Barry and mention Time Out and you’ll get a voucher to redeem a discount on Ardbeg 10yo at the Grosvenor Grocery and Bottleshop.
