Fitzroy's Pinnacle pub finally reopens kitchen after 2015 fire

Good news Fitzroy North locals, the stoves in Fitzroy's much-loved Pinnacle hotel will finally be making pub grub again, two years after a fire destroyed the kitchen in November 2015. While the pub reopened not too long after the fire, the kitchen has until now remained shut due to council red tape.

While their kitchen was out of order, the Pinnacle had been swapping their classic parmas and burgers with food from pop-up stalls in the beer garden by Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks and U Fuculari Sicilian BBQ. The pub also amped up its live music program by hosting local bands in the beer garden as well as indoors.

The reopened Pinnacle kitchen has seen chef Tim Breden return to run the pass. Classic pub dishes are now back on the menu, which features a panko-crumbed fish and chips with mushy peas, a parma with bacon and jalapeño, and a cheeseburger with onion rings and chimichurri. Vegans aren't neglected with a delicious-sounding quesadilla dish with faux pulled pork made with jackfruit.

It's good to have the corner pub back in time for summer and we tip our hat to the staff that have kept the pub running. If you're keen to check out the new menu at the Pinnacle, they've got gigs on this weekend and trivia hosted by an Elvis impersonator every Tuesday
