Beef lovers, rejoice because the team behind Huxtaburger are bringing their much loved hot sandwiches to Footscray. Following its OG digs in Collingwood, this will be the sixth spot to open in Melbourne. To celebrate, Huxtaburger will be dishing out 3,011 (as a nod to the 'burb's postcode 3011) of their signature Huxtaburgers (a classic combo of grass-fed beef patty, cheese, mustard, mayo, tomato sauce, tomato, lettuce and pickles) for just one dollarydoo when they swing open their doors on Sat Dec 2.

Designing the venue to fit the look and feel of the area, they've enlisted local artist, Shaniah Fernandes to do a custom mural, and there will be skate-inspired decor – like an upside-down skate bowl on the ceiling and a half pipe for the main seating area – alongside hot burgers and cold beers. In an area that's has been a hot button for conversations about gentrification, it'll be interesting to see how it fits into the suburb, but either way we're sure there will be a line out the door on the day they open.

Huxtaburger Footscray opens 11.30am Sat Dec 2 at 1/32 Leeds Street, Footscray 3011.
