The crew behind Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks, who so far have been manning the kitchen at Fitzroy craft beer bar The Catfish, has been busy working on taking their cheesesteak operation on the road in a food truck. This is all going to go ahead starting this weekend on Sunday November 6, where the Sparrow's food truck will be making its debut outside the Art of Banksy exhibition.

Sparrow's founders Geno Sparrow and Sammy Lynch have been making Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks, thinly sliced steaks and caramelised onions with melted American cheese in a long soft roll, out of The Catfish since 2013. A year ago, they imported a 1986 Grumman Krubmaster Step Van from the USA to house their mobile cheesesteak operation and no doubt they will be dishing up their famous sambos all over Melbourne this summer. Expect the original, the hot pepper cheesesteak, mushroom cheesesteak and vegetarian option with grilled smoked tofu that's seriously delicious. The Sparrow's crew will also be serving up their beer-ready fried chicken wings.

Look out for the Sparrow's Philly Cheesesteaks food truck's whereabouts on their Facebook page.
