Time Out says

The elusive singer-songwriter behind 'BTSTU' is set to make his Australian debut at 170 Russell

We know he's been gone a long time, but Jai Paul's back and wants what is his. Following a decade-long hiatus, the enigmatic singer-songwriter and producer behind the synth-pop smash hits ‘Jasmine’ and ‘BTSTU’ is making his Down Under debut this December.

The ever-elusive Jai Paul has announced he will perform as part of the Victorian Government’s Always Live, performing three nights at Melbourne’s 170 Russell on Monday, December 4 and Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6.

After realising the demo of ‘BTSTU’ to MySpace in 2007 – later released via XL Recordings – Jai Paul quickly cemented himself in both the underground and overground pop scenes, gaining commercial airplay across the UK and sampled on Drake’s ‘Dreams Money Can Buy’ and Beyonce’s ‘End of Time’.

The producer took a break from releasing music commercially in 2013 after an infamous leak of an upcoming project, leaving fans champing for more of his genre-bending music. In 2019, Jai Paul finally made the project official, releasing the demo album Leak 04-13 (Bait Ones) on all streaming services.

Jai Paul will perform at 170 Russell on December 4 and 5. Frontier Members can access the presale from Wednesday, August 30, at 11 am AEST. General tickets are on sale from Friday, September 1 at 11 am AEST. For more information about the tour and tickets, visit the Frontier Touring website here.
