Genre-bending pop-punk star Yungblud is returning to Australian stages for the first time in three years

Pop punk is undergoing a renaissance, and one of the artists at the helm of its return is English singer Dominic Harrison, also known as Yungblud. He rose to fame after the 2019 release of his debut single, 'King Charles', a protest track about the monarch who was known for levying an obscene amount in taxes.

Mainstream success came with the release of his sophomore album, Weird!, which peaked at number one on the UK albums chart. The album's lyrics tackle issues like problematic adult figures, abusive relationships and feelings of not fitting in.

On top of his music, the singer also expresses his punk beliefs through the subversion of fashion norms and gender expectations. He's frequently seen donning skirts, make-up and dresses on stage and has come out as pansexual.

Yungblud will be returning to the Splendour in the Grass stage, followed by a Melbourne sideshow at the John Cain Arena on July 28. General public tickets are on sale now through the Ticketek website
