From Saint Haven to Sense of Self, Melbourne is far from short of sanctuaries to relax and recharge. However, two new upscale wellness clubs are here to raise the standard even higher. Enter: the Commons.

Known for its beautifully designed co-working spaces, the Commons is launching a pair of social wellness clubs in Richmond (opening September 2025) and South Yarra (January 2026), blending fitness, recovery and community. These new spots will be a one-stop-shop, integrating co-working and wellness under one roof – talk about work-life balance.

Each club will span over 5000 square metres, making them the largest social wellness clubs in Melbourne’s inner city. They'll include everything from expansive gym floors and purpose-built class studios to a world-class bathhouse and a design-led members' lounge. The vibe is anything but clinical; think calming, elevated, with interiors that blend cork, timber, and concrete.

There are more than 200 weekly classes across 20-plus styles, including reformer and hot mat pilates, candlelit yin yoga, cycle, strength training, dance, step aerobics, meditation, sound healing, and breathwork. For those seeking additional guidance, personal training services are also available.

After all that hard work, it's time for some recovery. The on-site bathhouse is designed to be a pure luxury experience – complete with magnesium pools, cold plunges, a steam room, heated stone benches, and rituals tailored for release and resilience. You'll also find cutting-edge longevity treatments like red light therapy, lymphatic compression and private infrared saunas.

It's not all about movement and mindfulness at the Commons – members can hang out in the street-facing café and choose between bone broth, juices, smoothies and daily-made pastries, or unwind in the lounge. Extras include a wellness concierge, private lockers, eucalyptus-scented towels, a cologne and perfume bar, Dyson hair tools, and a laundry service.
