Legendary chef John Paul aka JP Twomey is hanging up his apron at Carlton Wine Room indefinitely.

For lovers of bistro and bar Carlton Wine Room this might come as a shock, but Twomey's final day as executive chef will take place on March 31 so we advise you to get those bookings in quick smart here. You can find him afterwards at ethical bakery Baker Bleu where he will take on the role of a development chef.

Twomey joined the team at Carlton Wine Room following the venue’s revamp in early 2018, after spending over a decade working with Andrew McConnell as head chef at Cutler & Co. He won Time Out's Chef of the Year in 2018, with Carlton Wine Room also winning Restaurant of the Year.

He leaves Carlton Wine Room in Conor Heath’s very capable hands, a chef Twomey has mentored for many years.

Shannon Martinez is opening a new vegan restaurant in South Yarra.
