Update Friday, November 14: Did you happen to feel the ground shake on Wednesday night? No, it wasn't an earthquake – it was just Acca Dacca on stage at the MCG. The Seismology Research Centre recorded low frequency activity in the 2-5 hertz range on its earthquake detection equipment during the concert, believed to be from the vibrations of the venue's speakers and crowd movement. We guess fans really were shook all night long.
Aside from the seismic activity, AC/DC's first Melbourne show was a triumphant success for the band, who haven't played in Australia in ten years. All the hits are there (except for 'It’s a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock’n’Roll)', which was retired after Bon Scott passed away), and the show goes for more than two hours. If you're heading to the 'G on Sunday, prepare for your ears to ring.
Just a week after Oasis blew audiences away at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne will once again play host to a major music moment. Rock'n'roll legends AC/DC are kicking off the Aussie leg of their highly anticipated Power Up Tour with two massive shows at the MCG.
With a catalogue of rock anthems that includes 'Back to Black', 'Highway to Hell', 'T.N.T.' and 'Thunderstruck', we're predicting one helluva performance from the band – which includes the iconic line-up of Angus Young on lead guitar, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug and bass player Chris Chaney.

When is the AC/DC Power Up Tour in Melbourne?
AC/DC will take to the stage at the MCG for two concerts on Wednesday, November 12, and Sunday, November 16.
How to get to the AC/DC Melbourne concerts
There is no general public parking available for the shows, so your best bet it to catch public transport.
There are three tram routes that service the MCG: the 48, 70 and 75.
If you're catching the train to the concert, you've got a few different options for routes you can take. The closest train station is Jolimont, which is just a five-minute walk from the stadium through Yarra Park, and you can get there via the Mernda and Hurstbridge train lines.
Richmond Station is also quite close by, at just a ten-minute walk from the MCG, and is easier to get to with eight train lines stopping there. Concertgoers can take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines, and then walk from the station via Punt Road.
What time will AC/DC come on stage?
Floor ticket holders will be able to enter the MCG at 5pm, while doors open for those with reserved seating tickets at 5.30pm. The Casanovas will hit the stage at 6.10pm, followed by Amyl and the Sniffers at 7pm. AC/DC is expected to start at 8.30pm.
What can I bring to the AC/DC Melbourne shows?
There are specific rules for what you can and can’t bring to the AC/DC concerts in Melbourne. Here are the main things to remember.
You can bring:
Prams, pushers, bags and other belongings, however they must be able to fit safely under the patron’s seat without impeding access. Patrons are encouraged to travel without bags but, if a bag is necessary, it should be no larger than A4 size.
You can’t bring:
All the usuals, including glassware, banners larger than 1.6 metres, flags, professional cameras, cans, laser pointers, flares, confetti, any illegal substances and more. Check out the full conditions of entry here.
