People born on February 29 (sometimes known as leap day) have a tough lot. Not only does their birthday come but once every four years, but they technically don’t even reach their 18th birthday until they’re 72.

Moon Dog World is saluting Melbourne’s quadrennial birthday babies this year by offering free drinks to anyone born on leap day. On February 29 the massive warehouse brewery bar is letting adults born on the day drink for free. We don’t just mean those born on Feb 29 get one free drink – Moon Dog World is letting birthday people get all their drinks for free.

To score your free birthday beers head along to Moon Dog World in Preston with photo ID on Saturday, February 29. Show your ID to security on entry for a special birthday wristband then mosey up to the bar for free pots of any Moon Dog Beer (and there are many varieties to choose from). You also get a free party hat because, you know, it’s your birthday.

There’s no limit on how many free brewskies you can get, but keep in mind standard RSA rules still apply and you can only get one pot at a time.

Stalactites is serving a special bushfire relief souvlaki until February 2.

Drink up: here are the best breweries in Melbourne.
