Is a dessert even a dessert if you can’t Instagram it? Rainbow-coloured food has gone bananas in the last year, with everything from bagels to frappuccinos getting the prismatic treatment. Now dessert café Chokolait has joined the trend with the announcement of a new rainbow pavlova.
Given how easy it is to colour meringue, we’re surprised the favourite Australian dessert hasn’t been turned into a rainbow sooner. Chokolait’s new, multicoloured pav features layers of raspberry, blueberry and passionfruit flavoured meringue topped with tangy double cream, freeze-dried raspberries, white chocolate crumbs and fresh fruit.
Apparently the colourful dessert is still not insta-worthy enough however, so Chokolait is serving the pavlova with two semifreddo domes and ‘pots of gold’ (small chocolates). The dessert will be available to try in-store from Friday, October 5 with full sized cakes to go on sale at a later date.
