You could fly from Melbourne to Adelaide or the Gold Coast for less than $100, or all the way to Bali for just $429

Thinking about booking a holiday? Consider this your sign to do so. Virgin Australia has just launched one of its biggest sales of the year, releasing more than one million discounted fares across 34 domestic and international destinations – and Melburnians can score flights from just $89 one-way.
The huge sale is live now and runs until 11.59pm AEST on Monday, July 27 (unless sold out earlier), with travel available between August 25, 2026 and June 22, 2027. Whether you're planning a quick interstate escape, a tropical holiday or an overseas adventure, there are plenty of bargains departing Melbourne.
For domestic travellers, some of the best-value fares include Melbourne to the Gold Coast from $89 one-way, Adelaide from $99, Sydney from $105, the Sunshine Coast from $115, Canberra from $125, Cairns from $139 and Hamilton Island from $169.
If you're overdue for an international getaway, you’re in luck. Return Economy Lite fares from Melbourne to Bali (Denpasar) start at just $429, Queenstown from $445 and Nadi, Fiji from $599, making this a pretty compelling excuse to finally lock in that beach holiday or South Island road trip.
Want to bundle everything together? Virgin Australia Holidays, powered by Hopper, is also discounting flight-and-accommodation packages. Melburnians can book return flights to Cairns plus two nights' accommodation from $479 per person (based on two travellers), while a Bali package including return flights and four nights' accommodation starts from $655 per person. Eligible Velocity Frequent Flyer members can also earn double Status Credits on qualifying holiday packages booked before July 27.
Plus, if you're looking for a little extra comfort you can upgrade to Economy X extra legroom seating from $12 per flight sector, or grab a cut-price business class flight (sale fares start from $219 one-way on selected routes).
You can explore more sale fares and destinations via the Virgin Australia website here. Just don't wait too long – the sale wraps up at 11.59pm AEST on Monday, July 27, unless the cheapest seats disappear first.
