Time Out says

Enjoy 360-degree views of Melbourne paired with a degustation menu showcasing Victorian ingredients and wines

With our abundance of rooftop drinking and dining experiences, it's no surprise that Melburnians love being sky-high. Some of our city's best hotspots range from a few storeys to 14 floors, but if you're looking to be neighbours with the clouds, then Eureka 89 is where you want to be.

Tucked away on the 89th floor of Southbank's Melbourne Skydeck, you'll enter via a side door with a sprawling red carpet. The receptionist will show you to an elevator that will take you from the ground floor to the 88th floor, but your journey isn't over yet; from there, you'll be directed to a private elevator taking you up to that last level. When the doors open and you ascend the ramp, prepare to be mesmerised by the 360-degree views across Melbourne and beyond.

All seats and tables are perched up against the window, meaning you'll enjoy an outlook uninterrupted by fellow patrons no matter where you're seated. Depending on the time of day, you may see kayakers paddling across the Yarra, ferries returning from the Bellarine Peninsula or Geelong and the sun setting across skyscrapers. It's a truly marvellous sight, but don't forget what you're also here for: a bold degustation menu showcasing exceptional produce.

Choose between the five-course chef's tasting menu for dinner or Sunday lunch ($150pp with an optional $70pp wine pairing) or the seven-course chef's tasting menu ($190pp with an optional $95pp wine pairing). Designed by executive chef Renee Martillano, the menu champions local Victorian and Australian producers and changes seasonally.

Expect dishes like yellowfin tuna topped with slices of smoked beetroot, swimming in a sauce of buttermilk and yuzu; a course of mushrooms served in multiple ways with goat gouda, pinenuts and yoghurt; tender Southern Ranges beef with wasabi, onion soubise and daikon gastrique; and a savoury dessert course by the cheesemonger featuring fennel sable, apricot and pear.
