Time Out says

Bustling pizza bar by night, sanga slinger by day, Ollie's Pizza Parlour is your trusty spot on Sydney Road for big American-Italian flavours

August 1, 2023 update: Fancy a $5 lunch? In celebration of its brand new afternoon menu of deli-style sandwiches, Ollie’s is serving up $5 loaded sangas, authentic Italian cannoli and fresh batch brew coffee between 11am and 2pm on Friday, August 4. The restaurant has added eight new tasty sandwiches to the menu, now available over lunchtime from Wednesday to Saturday. Go to the website for more details.

In 2020, Ollie’s Pizza Parlour quietly set up shop in the front section of live music bar Stay Gold. The fuss-free eatery has since garnered a solid reputation for its epic slices, natty wines and vintage vibes – it's a perfect spot for dinner and drinks on Sydney Road. Red and white chequered tablecloths? You betcha.

Why rack your brains over whether to choose a New York or Neapolitan-style of pizza when you can get the best of both worlds? Ollie’s Pizza Parlour cheekily sits on the fence, slinging slices with a thin and crispy base, chewy crust and traditional toppings with a twist. From saucy smoked meatballs and foraged mushrooms to their housemade porchetta, the hand-stretched creations are a refreshing, unpretentious addition to Melbourne’s pizza-scape and we’re here for it.

Of his pizza menu, head chef Blair Williams shared, “It’s really just big flavours that we all know and love, and that make us feel good. At the moment, my go-to has to be the porchetta; juicy, herby pork belly with friarielli, truffled pecorino and Dre’s salsa verde. It’s pretty special!”

After a solid run of dependable evening service, the folks at Ollie’s have decided to extend their trading hours alongside a revamped lunchtime offering. Pizza bar by night, sanga slinger by day, the daytime vibes are more casual, with both indoor and outdoor seating options available.

The panini sandwiches are a love letter to the tried-and-true staples inspired by New York and Italy, with a rotating monthly menu based on seasonality. Ollie’s relies on local providores for ingredients, such as the sourdough ciabatta rolls from Natural Tucker and cheese from That’s Amore.
