Time Out says

Following sold-out shows worldwide, the story about the world’s most successful folk-rock duo returns to Australia

The year is 1953, and a production of Alice in Wonderland is taking place in an elementary school in New York. Paul Simon is cast as the White Rabbit and Art Garfunkel, the Cheshire Cat.

Exactly 70 years on, The Simon and Garfunkel Story charts the engrossing tale of how these two young boys from Queens went from theatre dweebs to the world’s most successful music duo of all time – along with all the drama that landed them in troubled water.

The show has been selling out in more than 50 countries with standing ovations worldwide and now, it returns to Australia for a national tour throughout August. The laudable production covers their beginnings as the rock and roll outfit Tom and Jerry, their dramatic split and solo careers, before ending with a recreation of their legendary 1981 Central Park reunion concert.

The Simon and Garfunkel Story features all the classic hits, with a full band performing ‘Mrs Robinson, ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water’, ‘Homeward Bound’, ‘Scarborough Fair,’ ‘The Boxer’, ‘The Sound of Silence’, ‘Cecilia’ and more.

You can also expect 1960s scenography and video projections to conjure up the atmosphere of turbulent times and bring to life the lyrics and melodies that propelled the duo to widespread success.

If you want to see this “simply incredible” nostalgia fest, you can catch it at Hamer Hall on August 8. Tickets are on sale from May 19, and you can get them on the website here.
