Time Out says

See the historical Shipwreck Coast and the 12 Apostles from new heights thanks to this luxury helicopter tour

Want to explore the sights along Great Ocean Road, but hate sharing the lookout spots with tourists? Here's a life hack: avoid the crowds by getting off the ground and into the air with a tour by 12 Apostles Helicopters.

Choose between three tours: a 16-minute and 45-kilometre flight from 12 Apostles to London Bridge that covers five landmarks ($165 per person), a 25-minute and 90-kilometre flight from 12 Apostles to the Bay of Islands that covers nine landmarks ($245 per person) and a one-hour and 220-kilometre flight form 12 Apostles to Cape Otway that covers a whopping 17 landmarks.

After a safety briefing, you'll be led to the aircraft and strapped in before take-off. As you soar through the sky, your friendly captain will share fascinating tidbits about the sights below. Did you know that despite the name, there were never 12 Apostles? There were only ever nine and just seven remain. Or that when part of the London Bridge structure collapsed, it left two tourists stranded for hours until they were able to be rescued by helicopter? And this is just scratching the surface of the fun facts you'll learn on your scenic journey.

Bring a pal because you won't be able to book as a single passenger, and if you want to bring a crew, you can fit up to seven passengers in the largest helicopter. Bookings are recommended, but if you like living on the edge, 12 Apostles Helicopters does accept walk-in passengers. To book or learn more, visit the website.
